Observations:

  1. The Beggar, Born Lame is Separated from God (v2)
  2. An Amazing Event: (vv 3-8)
  3. The main point is the main point (vv 9-10):

Applications

  1. Bring glory to God, not to us!
  2. Ask God for opportunities to declare His Amazing Grace!

MC Questions

Bring Glory to God in your salvation:

  • What does it mean to mourn your sin?
  • What does it mean that God is “Our Father”?
  • In your lame state, can you save yourself?
  • Who saved you?
  • How did he save you?
  • From what did he save you?
  • Why did he save you?

Discuss this as a family:
We forget this gospel so often because of three things:

  1. We take ourselves out of biblical community.
  2. We trust in what we see.
  3. And we forget our own name.

Read this our loud: 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” John 10

Pray as a family:
Ask God for a right spirit within you,

  • a spirit that is poor but full of kindness towards people.
  • a spirit that is gentle in declaring the mighty works of God.
  • a spirit that is controlled by God himself so that we would be a people who have self-control in a world where there are so many distractions.
  • Ask God for patience with people who are hard so that God would soften their hearts.

Now go and share with each other the gospel of Jesus Christ!
